Who can currently operate in Nova Scotia?

Businesses (except those ordered to close) may stay open so long as a two metre distance between employees can be maintained. Workspaces must also be cleaned and disinfected at a minimum of twice per day.

Provincial support for businesses

Government Loans
The Government will defer payments until June 30 for all government loans and for small business fees, including business renewal fees (a list of fees will be posted online early next week).

Workers’ Compensation Board will defer employer premiums until July. While those premiums will accrue, interest and late payment fees will be waived until further notice.

Changes to the Small Business Loan Guarantee Program (administered through credit unions):
The program will defer principal and interest payments until June 30, and make it easier to access credit up to $500,000. For those who might not qualify for a loan, the government will guarantee the first 100,000.
