INSURANCE TIPS
Explosive material making its way into scrap yards is a real and immediate safety concern. At the recent annual convention CARI reminded attendees of our work with the Department of National Defence Unexploded Explosive Ordnance (UXO) program. Last year the program turned up 39 items in scrap yards, and 11 of those were live explosives.
CARI encourages members to contact DND to learn what to do with a UXO found on site, and find out how to seek reimbursement for the material. For more information about the program call 1-800-207-0599 or email UXOCanada [at] forces.gc.ca.

2011 CARI GOLF TOURNAMENTS
Golfers rejoice! CARI is hosting three tournaments next month. The B.C. Chapter tournament is set for Wednesday, August 17 at the Richmond Country Club. On Thursday, August 18 our National Golf Tournament will be held again at Legends on the Niagara. Our Quebec Chapter will host its tournament on Wednesday, August 31 at Club de golf Beloiel.
In addition to being enjoyable outings, these tournaments are excellent networking opportunities for members of the industry.
Our National tournament also offers members the occasion to promote their company through sponsorship and prizes. CARI is looking for sponsors for each hole, the longest drive, the straightest drive, closest to the pin, hole-in-one, and the putting contest. We will also have a prize table and would appreciate every member, whether they are able to join us or not, to send or bring a prize.
